What Went Wrong

by LiL Ma   Oct 3, 2008

How can you do this
Sit there and question my devotion for you
Please tell me why
You act like you don't know how I feel
When my love for you is as pure as a white dove in the clear, blue sky
It kills me that you don't see the pain you cause
Like after loving you there would be anyone else
I tried to hard to keep my guard up
But after that first kiss it was obvious I had fell
Deep into the trance that over time was too much to resist
And now I'm free falling to the bottom of the hollow hole that has become my heart
It's almost too much to bear
It's hard enough to try and reminisce
About the days when I could look into your soft, blue eyes and see my future
Those times when everything was clear
Now those happy memories are quickly fading along with the love you once possessed for me and there lies my biggest fear
That you could actually heal that quick from a fire like ours
Act like it never happened
Come out without the slightest burn
Or maybe it's just because you play the game right and I don't play games at all
Hopefully one day you can teach me
I can save myself the pain and learn
How to be more like you and be able to engage with someone without getting attached
Because since the first time we got together I knew I was stuck and that's the sad fact
You say that you want to be with me
Yet you let me hang like a puppet on a string
Come on, be straight with me
Do you even have any intentions of trying again or was I just a fling
If that's the case just do me a favor and cut me loose because as the days go by I can feel myself falling under
Yes it will hurt but the pain will finally subside
And even though it won't be the one I want
I will finally have my answer, No longer will I stay awake in tears and wonder
What went wrong between two that seem so inevitable to once again become one
So I ask you not just as your lover but as you friend
Do you think our love is strong enough to stay alive?
Or is this really the end
