Someone So Small

This is their world
All lost and confused
Heartbreak and tears
A life of being mentally abused.

So young, yet, so experienced
Pleading for it all to end
Someone needs to come along
To fix it all, just a simple mend.

All they know is hurt,
Tears, screams and pain
Thankful enough they're not old enough to know
About the knife to the vein.

Mama doesn't think right
Daddy doesn't think at all
How could they hurt someone so much.
Especially someone so small?
