Imaginary love

by purplemadness   Oct 7, 2008

What if the world stopped turning?
What if all love flames stopped burning?
We know that this will never be,
No water could extinguish the fire that's within me.

There is more than love on a wire,
Even if this may be covered with a deepest desire.
All I know is that I need you close to me,
In a world where our hearts can fly free.

Like a seagull way up in the sky,
The perfect place you and I.
Dreams I've spent to imagine how it would be,
To swim together, like a dolphin in the sea.

Wouldn't it be great to go to wherever we desire,
On the North Pole in a cottage, making love next to a fire.
Or on a tropic island, underneath the sun,
Far away from everyone.

But I am here and you are there,
I know, it sometimes leads us into despair.
But as long as you don't say we're through,
I know there's a place on earth for me and you.
