A girl called Charley

by jasmine cherry   Oct 10, 2008

Left alone in a world unseen by her eyes
Against the walls her heart beats
inside her infectious body
life is meaningless
nothing to hope for
just to be there

Bruises cover more than her body
She sees herself as nobody
like the monster calls her
a nobody mean
to live a life of servitude
the outside world has forgotten
there was even a child

A little
girl
Unrecognizable
She shivers but theres nothing to keep her warm
the creature enters the room
and the tears she has matched only to his face
pours down from the well
she holds deep in her body
Wells that reach to the fiery pits
of hell

Anywhere was better than where she was
Happiness is now irrelevant
the only thing that matters is survival
as her body numbs to his touch
he calls her the name she knows better than her own

There is no one there
but him
She tries to let the darkness in gulf her
as her sweet dreams
evades her
only the nightmare of what's soon
to come
each and every day follows her
until that man who's suppose to protect her
the one she calls father
crumbles
under the sins he has created

Wow it's really well written. Very sad and touching.

    I loved the last stanza.

    "There is no one there
    but him
She tries to let the darkness in gulf her
    as her sweet dreams
    evades her
only the nightmare of what's soon
    to come
each and every day follows her
until that man who's suppose to protect her
    the one she calls father
    crumbles
under the sins he has created"
