Without him

by InvisibleHourglass   Oct 25, 2008

Lost in her composure, she watched as he left her,
without saying goodbye,
without tears,
without the feeling of loss,
without remorse,
without anger,
without screams of betrayl.

she turned and walked away,
without looking back,
without pleading that it was a dream,
without feeling like she'd never find her way home,
without him.

she stepped inside,
without feeling warmth, without feeling comfort,
without feeling like she'd won, the battle with herself.
without feeling upset,
without rushing for the phone to cry to someone who would care
without thinking back
without the feeling that she'd die.

she fell asleep that night,
without him by her side,
without crying even one tear,
without feeling one emotion,
without thinking of one useless memory,
without having to lie that tomorrow would be better, without waiting for the phone to ring.

She didn't die without his love, she didn't feel the pain. she thought she would, but no.
without him, she felt no different,
without him, she was better off.
