Devil's Advocate

by Lauren   Oct 27, 2008

Dusk turns to light,
And the sky is blood red,
Acid rain falls burning to the ground,
From up over head.

The burning sensation from the acid rain,
Feels great falling on my skin,
But I look up and the sun is leaving,
And darkness is coming in, all around it's creeping.

The darkness is overpowered,
By the Blood red sky,
And soon everything we ever knew,
Well be disintegrating under the acids roo.

Electricity is cut,
All the people are afraid,
They gather necessities all around,
Then huddled together in basements and prayed.

I am just fine walking about,
The acid rain does no harm to me anymore,
Something has changed, I feel invincible,
I feel power, greatness, and I'm free.

The ground starts to shake,
Steam, fire, and smoke emerge,
As the ground starts to break apart,
Black smoke and fire linger under the blood red sky.

Me being curious, I looked down the crack,
What remained was a stairway,
A stairway to what seemed hell,
Flames and smoke hovered the stairs always.

Even though it looked like a lava pit,
I went ahead and took a first step,
Fire spewed out and shot into the air,
Each step I took a black print remained on the floor.

Going deeper in, I felt as if I was gaining power,
The burning searing pain from fire I don't feel at all,
My pupils narrowed, my eyes turned black,
I felt evil within me, no good can I recall.

The Devil was standing near, "I wanna deal."
He turned around to face me in the eye,
"The power you feel is temporary, but it can be yours.
All in return is all your city people's soles.?"

I accepted to be the Devils Advocate,
And within 3 days my people belonged to Lucifer's Hell.
I felt my power grow, and finally was whole,
Immortal he would make me for only 50 more soles.

Easy as hell, done the next day,
Now I wander the world doing anything I may please,
Be careful, though, if you see me at all,
Because chances are I will steal your sole.
