Sun

by Scrittore   Oct 30, 2008

A time I thought would never come
Sits so quietly on the lowered sun
And as it rises to shine its light
So does my fear begin to ignite
For all the desires within my soul
Never felt this subtle extol
That now I wonder if it true
And if you'll soon give your adieu
To leave me here with this mistaken chance
On finding one love and true romance
Though a bird must dare to take first flight
And so I fear not my desperate plight
It is better to risk the pain and take the fall
Then never to know true love at all
So here I stand with open arms
Here I am at mercy of your charms
I only hope that you can find
The love in me that in you I once did hide
For one day to join in precious matrimony
And live together, happy, as a lovely family.
With days and months and years gone by
I know you'll see as once did I
The love that burned deep in my soul
Yet only long after I've let go
And so the sun departs to it lowered state
The love never returned must not have been fate
