It's because of those before you
And the way they tried to play
Telling me the words they knew
Would be enough to make me stay

Lie after lie escaped their lips
And that's how I learnt this game
To speak only words I knew
Would keep you coming back

Yet when you got close to me
I took two steps back
And left you so confused
Trying to guess which was fact

Did I love you or was this all a game?
I couldn't tell you the answer
I've become to engulfed in this twisted
Game of lies and confusion
