WOW! This was such a pleasant poem that captured all serenity and divinty within life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The flow was really good which also made a great impact on the entire feel of the poem.

"The big old moon plays hide and go seek with the clouds
God switched on my night lights, I gasped out aloud
I forget all my worries, they turn to dust
Another valuable lesson to me He entrusts"
^^My favourite part of the whole poem. Excellent work.

"Fragrant dandelion pillow, to rest my head on
Blankets of evening sunshine, to dream from
A bed of veldt grasses and daisies sublime
A view on the world as if it were mine"

Wow, you really drew me into this nature poem by these beautiful words. I love how you say a dandelion pillow, to rest your head on. What creativity and imagination runs through this lines!

"Sleepy white clouds kiss the tree tops
Birds flying home, don't look like they'll stop
Little bunnies and deer cautiously feed
A porcupine's paradise, here's all that he needs"

What I really appreciate is how you just don't write a poem about nature, but you bring it alive and make me feel like I'm there, experiencing all of this peace and greatness.

"My curtains of turquoise turn royal blue
The oncoming night a rhapsody too
The tangerine skyline streaked burgundy red
The clouds have turned gold as I lay on my bed"

All of the colors that are portrayed in this stanza make it so rich and vivid, as if it was right before your very eyes. I also like how you used rhapsody, creates such serenity as the reader takes an amazing journey through your work.

"The sparrows chirp shyly, from up in their nest
Vervet monkeys go to the hills, for their nightly rest
Great free tailed bats hunt in a night ballet pantomime
Little creatures scatter, as an eagle owl puts in his time"

Good descriptions of all the animals, not one line disappointed me, or didn't keep me interested. Really, you had me grasping each and every word.

"The big old moon plays hide and go seek with the clouds
God switched on my night lights, I gasped out aloud
I forget all my worries, they turn to dust
Another valuable lesson to me He entrusts"

Perfect ending with so much truth to it. Sums everything you wrote about all up. A magnificent piece to read, going onto my favorites. You really have a way with words, this has to be one of the best nature poems I've ever read. Good job, I hope to read more of your work later on. Take care, 5/5 from me. Keep writing, always and forever...

    Grant,

you really have excelled yourself here..I hope you layed down after writing this.

Your descriptions are intensely rich, with a depth that helps the reader delve into your portrayed world.

Each stanza is a picture by itself and the whole piece a series.

Well done, this is great descriptive poem from you.

What an awesome poem. The imagery is excellent.

Fragrant dandelion pillow, to rest my head on
Blankets of evening sunshine, to dream from
A bed of veldt grasses and daisies sublime
A view on the world as if it were mine

What a beautiful picture this paints for the mind. I can see the daisies dancing in there bed of grass.

Sleepy white clouds kiss the tree tops
Birds flying home, don't look like they'll stop
Little bunnies and deer cautiously feed
A porcupine's paradise, here's all that he needs

Just to be able to view these things is a blessing. Thanks for giving me the chance to see it through your eyes.

My curtains of turquoise turn royal blue
The oncoming night a rhapsody too
The tangerine skyline streaked burgundy red
The clouds have turned gold as I lay on my bed

This is my favorite part. I miss seeing the setting sun.....such a beautiful sight.

The sparrows chirp shyly, from up in their nest
Vervet monkeys go to the hills, for their nightly rest
Great free tailed bats hunt in a night ballet pantomime
Little creatures scatter, as an eagle owl puts in his time

The big old moon plays hide and go seek with the clouds
God switched on my night lights, I gasped out aloud
I forget all my worries, they turn to dust
Another valuable lesson to me He entrusts

Just an fantastic poem of nature. Thank you so much for sharing your vision with your words :)

Ooo, veldt, good vocab word. I have never seen it before, or even heard of it for that matter. Thank you for expanding my vocabulary. :]

That's beautiful Grant. It really gave me an idea of what goes on in nature where you live. Everything over here is so different. :] It wasn't how different things are that made it a great poem, it was your use of metaphors and word choice that made it beautiful. That was truely enticing and captivated me as a reader. How you described the sky grasped my soul the most. Beautiful!

    Five out of five!
