Porcelain

by NICOLE   Nov 3, 2008

Before I met you
I made so many mistakes
Walked around throwing the middle finger up
To the world
Lived for the day
Never thought about tomorrow
Did what I wanted
And never cared about the consequences
Lived an invincible life
One that could never kill me
Never realized that I it was all a facade
That would melt away
I followed the crowd
Lost my voice
And lost myself

Before I met you
I made so many mistakes
I laughed away the sorrows of the world
Waiting for change
Lived for the day
Didnt give a shit about tomorrow
Did what I desired
Because there were no consequences
Lived an unbreakable life
Where nothing shattered
Never realized it was all a facade
That would crash and burn
I followed the crowd
Lost my heart
And lost myself

When I met you
I stopped making the same mistakes
The ones that would break your heart if you knew
How lost I was
I stopped waiting
And started living
Learned to desire tomorrow
And to make the most of everyday
Did what I had to
Because I needed you
Lived a porcelain life
Where things balanced perfectly
I lead the crowd
I Found my voice
I Found my heart
I Found myself
And I found you
