Depression

by adroit   Nov 4, 2008

All eloquence faltering
Composure slipping
Eyes burning with searing hot tears
Bitterness, resentfulness entangled
With an enormously meaningful
Sense of despair
Patience shortens until there's nothing left
Darkness creeping in
And suddenly there's no sky to see
And I am alone
Day and night are indistinguishable
Left to choke on my own heart's blood
Terrified so suddenly of what lies in the shadows
Of my own soul
Words hurt like daggers
Voices sharp enough to draw blood
Memories tear away at the new dawn
And suddenly the sun is gone
Depression reigns over me
