Ordinary days

by Ares   Nov 6, 2008

We've grown tired of this house,
together we've tried all the games.
somehow I feel like you want to run away,
and leave me hanging in the dead of the night.

seek out the thrills of ordinary days,
try this out in the impossible ways,
and see what happens when we go crazy.

red, dull house.
why don't keep us happy?

red, dull house.
why can't you keep me drunk?

I turn to the wine to make me sleepy,
the night alone can't make me dream.
see how I struggle to reinvent our jokes,
but you can't even hear me when I scream.

break out the diamonds from a stone,
try to see the possibilities in our former ways,
build another world for us to explore.

red, dull house.
why don't you keep us smiling?

red, dull house.
how can't you see we're tired of each other,
I'm sitting all alone with only my thoughts as entertainment.

red, dull house.
why do you even exist?

Wow! This is moving and...meaningful...and so sad! I love this poem! Brilliant!
It flows well, it has a good rhythm.
    ooh, one grammatical mistake:
    'why don't keep us happy?'
    should be
'why don't you keep us happy?"
that was all! I really enjoyed this, I am so printing it!
You had a lot of great one liners in this...beautiful.
