Crossroads

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 7, 2008

My heart was beating in my mouth
The blood raced through my veins
I came upon a darkened road
Fear bound me in chains

My feet were heavy in my mind
Panic swept my being
There had to be another way
One I wasn't seeing

The trees, they called out mocking me
Laughing at my shame
Creatures stirring in the night
To see what I became

Just a shell of who I was
So fierce, I lived before
Unafraid of what may wait
Behind the daunting door

Then one day, the world it changed
And in it, I did too
Standing at the crossroads now
This quest seems overdue

I chance a step into the dark
Courage lights my way
A change is coming once again
I'll waiver not this day
