Judgement

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 7, 2008

Were you sent to judge the world
From high upon your throne?
Or do you seek to change it all
For fear of the unknown?

A mournful sage of wisdom lost
Because you fail to see
The blood that's running through your veins
Is also found in me

A simple being on this earth
Life somehow embraced
Pieced together from a mess
Of universal waste

I'm happy just to wander down
Some lonely country road
Sincere beauty sinking in
Lightening the load

The world, one moment, far away
No worry of keen eyes
True freedom in a crowded world
That cheers life as it dies

Why do you wish to be the one
Who stirs the boiling pot?
Dedicating all you are
And everything you've got

The only path you can control
Is the one you're on
Fix your eyes upon that road
Before time is forgone

If this God the world speaks of
Exists within the sky
Will you sit on judgment day
Strong in your reply?

A list of good you came to do
Or only deeds of others
Will this God reward you for
The harm you brought your brothers?
