The Remembrance

by Christy   Nov 11, 2008

I remember when you'd look my way with such sweet and tender eyes
You had me wrapped around your finger;
I had no interest in other guys.
The way you'd speak with such grace
Desire would fill my heart
And the way your hands would wrap around my waist
I've loved you from the start
I remember when I laid my head on your chest and the smell of your shirt
Sweet temptation flowed through me as we would laugh and flirt
The way you whispered my name would make any girl go weak
I remember the nights that we had our secrets to keep
Climbing into my room through the glass window
You laid silently next to me
Holding me close and whispering in my ear,
"We're simply meant to be."
Jack and Sally, Bella and Edward
They're all just fairy tales
But I think our romance came with many more details
Everything was perfect, nothing could go wrong
Until one day everything shattered all because SHE came along.
She had no flaws, or so it seemed
So she came and took his heart from me.
I cried.
I tried.
I lied.
I died.
"Things will get better", my friends would say
But I don't see their romances going astray
How did it happen?
What did I not say?
But now, looking back, I remember;
It was you that walked away.
