Hung high..

by Phoenixgoddess   Nov 20, 2008

The lynching of the girl,
Hung in the highest tree.
So high up there,
For all to see.

They ridicule me,
They take my best away.
Because that is what I give,
But it's never enough, I still pay.

I gasp for a breath,
Life and my loved ones put a tight hold.
Around my neck and heart,
I still hold my head up bold.

I give my best,
It's never enough.
I still feel alone,
When things get real tough.

I do it all,
For myself and the ones I love.
To make them happy,
But my feelings are never thought of.

I feel myself,
Fading into the dark.
I'm barely hanging on,
I still have a little spark.

Is there no one to help me?
To cut the rope?
Please let there be,
I'm losing hope.

I look around,
And they all laugh and look in awe.
I cannot believe,
The ones I cared for, I saw.

So close to giving up,
But I still have a little light,
Is it enough?
To be alright?

It's obvious I'm troubled,
So clear I need someone to help.
So alone,
I always felt.

Please let there be,
Someone to cut the rope.
Don't let the day come,
Where I lose all hope.
