People Change Like Seasons

by Smilesunshine   Nov 25, 2008

As you grow you learn things that you don't want too. Things that make you wish your ears never heard the sound waves, that imprinted them-self on your mind, your heart, and your soul. Your stomach goes up in knots; your heart weeps, and your knees give in. As you feel the sharp burning pain of embers from the ashes of the words that burn so deep down in your core. Everything that you thought was real fades away, the walls of your safe place fall down, with the loudest crash you have ever heard. It all breaks right before your eyes.

You're no longer a child. Life is no longer rainbows, butterflies or cotton candy skies, now its danger, fear, and anxiety. As everything changes and your fields turn to shades of grey, the devil is there to welcome you with a sign that says '' Welcome to your reality ''

Unlike the ocean waves that wash away drawings in the sand, left behind by little hands, you will never be able to wash away, what you hear, see or figure out. All you can do is keep drawing in the sand, to try and keep the child like moments alive. Build up your walls that crumble down; one brick at a time.

And one day, one moment, your mind will clear. And in that second you will see the truth; the irony of life. That when you are born, you cry, and everyone around you rejoices, but when you die, you rejoice, and everyone around you cries --

Fear is in living, not dieing.
