I do not have
A guiltless soul
Empathy lives here

All that hurts
My fellow man
Brings a sorrowed tear

As well
It brings the strength of mind
To stand up in this world

Unafraid
To face the fight
To fix what's come unfurled

I do not have
A seamless heart
But still it does beat on

Nothing lasts forever here
Live
Before it's gone

Love as though
It were the last
Love you'd ever know

Even if
It ends tomorrow
You've given all you owe

Haven't got
A single ounce
Of wisdom in my head

It's all been thrown
Upon a page
And left to die instead

Readers walking
Passing by
Paying it no mind

Still I write
To clear the slate
And leave the past behind

    Wow... I fell in love with this piece. I'm truly amazed.
    I can relate to this poem in so many ways which made it even more powerful for me. I like the topic that you picked to write about. This poem is simply astonishing from the beginning to the end. It seems simple at first, but it holds amazing depths within every stanza.
    This is one of those pieces I could re-read many times and always find another remarkable detail I haven't noticed before.
    I can't pick favorite stanza, they're all equally great, but the ending is truly heartfelt, especially those three last stanzas.
    Overall, greatly done.
