Winter

by RavishingEruption   Dec 9, 2008

The sighing trees
Give way to fear
The fog rolls in
It's almost here

Feeling the pulse
In the ground below
The bitter breath
Of an early snow

The ice crawls in
And chokes off all growth
Killing life and
Smothering hope

The ground is hard
And full of pasts
Every year the
Cold winds blast

Murdering thoughts
Of a bright tomorrow
Winter is here
It's the bringer of sorrow

You captured my feelings about winter. I cannot pick any one line that I would favor over the rest. The entire poem is well written, the flow is good. Good job on this. 5/5
