Is there love?

Walking down the road of my life
I begin seeing all the broken pieces of my heart
Is there really such a thing as true love
Or am I supposed to keep getting torn apart...

I walk down to the lake and sit by the lake
I stare up into the sky and watch the sunset
So many things that keep running through my head
Some people I wish I would have never met

People that crushed my heart and left it in pieces
I really don't think I will ever find the perfect one
I think I am supposed to keep helping other people
Wishing that this loneliness would one day be done

I'm such a romantic guy but sick of getting hurt
My walls are built up too high to let anyone in
I don't want to get my heart scattered again
So I choose to stay single so I don't have to begin

I thought cupid was supposed to find me the perfect girl
But he has seemed to have fallen right to the ground
What happened to this angel that was supposed to be mine
I guess she is another love that is not around

So goodbye love, goodbye to the chance I never had
I'm sick of getting my heart torn in two
So I think I will stay single for the rest of my life
Instead of taking the risk of the pain that I will go through...

    That was so sad and yet so romantic at the same time. You expressed how you feel in a very beautiful way.

    (these lines were my favorite because so many people can relate and it was a great way to start you poem and draw people into reading it) 5/5

    Wow.. how sad.. i loved how you spoke about cutting yourself off from love, so that you dont feel the hurt and the pain that often comes with it.
    overall a great poem, just one small thing i noticed..

    Wishing that this lonliness would one day be done
