The Mistake?

by Diva the Chiropteran Queen and a Brokencyde and a Twilight Fan   Dec 15, 2008

Am I the mistake?
If you say I am then my heart will break
Even though I burn everything in my wake

I long for someone to hold
But I'm never that bold
I'm just left out in the cold

I don't want to be left alone
But I'm chilled right down to the bone
The only thing you hear is nothing but a groan

Why was I placed on this earth?
I have nothing of worth
I don't want to be rebirth

The cold darkness I rather be in
Since my patience is wearing thin
Let the darkness have it's one

There is no reason why I should be
So hear my plea
And let me be free

Just a slice of the knife
Just a swallow of the pills
Just a noose over the head
Just a simple suffocation

It's just so simple...just let me die in peace

I personally didn't find this piece too pleasing, because it just felt forced, like you were forcing all the lines to rhyme, excluding the last stanza, but I do think the passion was there. Maybe a more relaxed feeling would really help this piece, but that's just my opinion. Other people seem to love it.

P.S. I'm glad you liked my poem 'The mask'. I think that's why so many people like that poem, because it reminds them of themselves. They can relate to it, and I think it's important for people to be able to relate to things, whether it's poems, quotes, songs, films, etc.
