Teenaged Infants

by Paiger   Dec 19, 2008

The adolescence that surrounds me
The immaturity everywhere
The horrid disrespect
I am in a state of despair

How is it that their parents have not told them these things?
I learn to respect more and more these things my parents taught me that the others do not know.

They no longer respect those around them
None of them care to present themselves well
Conservative values are no longer
Our youth are acting younger and younger

Maturity is not understood
They think they can perform adult motions
But even more immature they are
By not respecting things beyond their age

Relationships mean nothing
Appearance is all that matters
un-taught values is the dilemma
but why do we not feel the need to fix it?

I really loved the title. It really made me curious as to what the poem was about, which made me more interested in reading it. I also like the content in your poem.
The flow was a bit off, especially in the second stanza.. but overall it was a good poem.
Its true though, the message in your poem. Adolescents are caring more and more about their appearance and less and less about morals and values. Not all of them mind you :)

    very well done.

So completely true! I love it because it is not just a story but something that is happening here and now in the world. It is very well written and an amazing idea behind it. Kudos. 5/5
