Time Is Running Out

by xToBeWithYoux   Dec 23, 2008

Look at how far we have come,
at all of the great things we have done.
Promise me, please don't go,
forget our past misfortune and sorrow.

Just remember how strong we were,
love filled days passed in a blur.
Kisses and cuddles and snuggles galore,
being together was never a chore.

Saying 'I love you' was never enough,
our passion was intimate, physical, rough.
Sure, sometimes you would shove,
but I would forgive you: we were in love.

Under the beautiful blanket of stars,
we would sing with our guitars.
What has happened to those happy nights,
looked upon by those distant lights?

The sands of time, volatile and true,
slip through my fingers, and I knew.
Our time together is at an end,
sadly, you are now just a friend.

Hmm well, I don't like it as much as the other poem you wrote.

Simply because this one is much more, well, public I suppose. A little more of the generic love poem style as well. Something very common here.

Really no mistakes, it was a very well written poem. Something that would make an English teacher proud I'm sure. I just didn't like the ex boyfriend part. I think that downgraded it's creativity, but whatever. It's what matters to you that counts.

Saying that, it's still a pretty good poem. Keep up the great work.
