Rain Girl

by Mighty442   Dec 25, 2008

Lonely girl walking in the rain
Clutching her coat, her heart refrain
Traveling the streets, as the cold wind blows
Hiding her eyes and covering her clothes
Just wanting to go home and shutting out the world
Wishing she could be warm and let her hair unfurl
She doesn't want to be cold, she doesn't want to be alone
She just wants to be held, she just wants to be known
Faster and faster she's almost there
Slipping and falling it's so unfair
Dropping her purse and scrapping her knee
Soaking her clothes to such a degree
Holding back her tears, cursing her self
A hand reaches out offering her help
Her sad face looks up and sees a friendly smile
Holding her up as she rest for awhile
Her hair is a mess her clothes are soaked
Tears fall down, matching the rain she hopes
He tells her things will be fine, holds her hand to keep warm
Watch and you'll see, the sun past through the storm
She's skeptical at first but his confidence fills her with trust
His face and his smile is plenty enough
She shies away afraid to let him see her in such despair
He holds her hand as though he's aware
A small smile comes to her, happy for his touch
Just for a little while not wanting to much
Even with everything wrong, he can plainly see
That this lonely girl is beautiful to me
