Poisoned by these fairy tales

by MoveAlong   Dec 28, 2008

As I look from my window
In a tower so high
I expect so much more
From this clouded sky
But in this stone covered castle
That's more a dungeon then home
I sit expecting
But I'm still alone
And I wait for my prince charming
With a horse, white as winters chill
To cry out my name
Galloping over yonder hill
The prince to my princess
He waits at my door
But as the stone cools me hand and heart
I expect so much more
When does a girls dream come true
What you see in movies and in books?
Not all these strangers
With their darting eyes and icy looks
where's the imagination
In this reality so cold?
a shot of sedation
to kill the fairy tales of old
If this is what dreams are made of
Will I wake anymore?
I can't help what I've grown to know
I still expect so much more
