Into the Unknown

by Kate   Dec 30, 2008

I like to think that you have gone somewhere
and that you're not completely gone
that maybe you have soaked into this earth
and you there whenever the wind rustles through the trees
or when it throws snow in swirls across the road
or maybe that you've flown across the earth and sky
to settle among the burning stars
or maybe I've got it all wrong
maybe your not the bird that has settled in our yard
maybe your not the crisp winter breeze
or the celestial shadows of the moon
maybe you've simply come to reside
in an entirely new body
awaiting new experience and wisdoms
ready to touch other lives as you have so lovingly touched ours
any maybe, thinking of all these places for you to have gone
is just a way of excepting that we have lost you
but no matter where you've gone or what you've become
it won't change the fact that we miss you.
