Goodbye, My Love

by CourtneyyContageous   Dec 31, 2008

Holding on to a thread
Of which we weaved our love
The precious gift to which was given
From heaven up above

In the beginning it was blissful
Not a lonely fear in sight
As time passed, it grew weaker
Dragging through our angered nights

Finally the dreadful day arrived
I realized there was nothing left
Nothing but hurt and pain
My happiness gone, and you the theft

I held on, for dear life
As if the world would end
For, if you left I'd have nothing
My cold heart would be completely dead

But now I see the light of lies
It's plays over in my life
I can't go on any longer
I need release from this fright

So to this I say goodbye, my love
From all our love filled days
To the night's we forever cried
The voice's we had raised

Clinging to my heart
As I whisper final goodbye's
I turn on my heel, and take my leave
Silence, as I wipe the tear from my eye

-------------------------------------------
Not one of my best I know,
but i needed release of these feelings
Thanks for reading =)

What happened to the rhyme scheme in stanza four? After that stanza it seems both the rhythm and the rhyme go off.
