BFF no longer

You and I were a pair, two peas in a pod
Best friends forever, doing things weird and odd
Hanging out day after day
Nothing could make our relationship gray

Well that no longer was the deal
After a while I understand how you feel
We moved to another grade and grew
There wasn't a me and you

You had your other friends and we grew apart
I would have stopped if I were smart
But I tried to get you back and be your friend once more
All you did was ignore me and show me to the door

It's been awhile since we have had a chat
No ones at fault, it's not that
We just grew and have changed for the better
I didn't make the cut, I knew when you threw out my letter

I understand now that our friendship won't last
That relationship is in the past
All we can do is move forward and ask, why?
