This Time

To describe how much you mean to me in a poem is difficult
Because you mean more than words make it possible
You cannot be compared to the rest
Because you're simply the best

This time it feels so special
But I said that the last time and look how that turned out
I'm not going to say we're going to be always together
Because if you look to the future you lose forever

Remember, remember the 5th of November
Can be used in our special way
Our first kiss in the rain next to a dimming fire
Soaking wet, makes me realise you're my only desire

I love it when you force me to stay
You know I can't resist your eyes and that smile
I always feel guilty walking home
And wish we had the whole world to roam

That night we spent together was so bliss
The morning waking next to you felt like heaven
And you clung on to me in your sleep
Making me feel like I was yours to keep

You've let me into your life
Despite the pain we've both felt before
Maybe this time love will work
Because we're more experienced it and know how not to be a jerk

But life has an unexpected way of throwing us down when we are high
And I really hope and I don't think that will happen with us
You have become my life now; I don't know what I'd do without you
And I know that you feel the same and this love is true
