Heart of Stone

by flutterflies   Jan 4, 2009

There's no one here,
I'm completely alone,
No one to calm my fears,
I'm sinking like a stone,
Drowning in emotion,
Shouts from a voice unknown,
Creating a commotion,
But wait a that voice is my own,
I need a hand,
To pull me free,
To help me stand,
Someone rescue me!
Shaking uncontrollably,
I grit my teeth, clench my fists,
And stand nervously,
I'll do my best,
I'll try to make it alone.
I'll have to pretend,
That my heart's made of stone.
