Badge

I don't know right
And I don't know wrong,
My heart and head,
Sing different songs.
I'm lost and hidden,
My head confused,
My pride beaten,
And badly bruised.
I'm overwhelmed,
By cares unspoken,
My heart lies on the floor,
Beating; broken.
But I'm not afraid,
My heart beat
Does not quicken,
And my blood begins to boil,
As my skin starts to thicken,
If there's one thing certain,
One thing that I know,
They don't matter,
And with each insult I grow.
Grow stronger as a person,
Braver and bolder,
I will one day be,
Fearless as a soldier.
So pin this badge on my heart
And let it bleed,
I'll wear it proud,
Because I know I'm simply me.
