Mediocre Poem of Love

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Jan 5, 2009

How come I can't find the words
To pen the emotions from my heart
I'm trying so hard to show you
How much it hurts being apart

I write and rewrite and rewrite again
Not liking a single word
I want this poem to pierce your skin
Allowing my love to be heard

You'd have to be blind to not see how I love you
Yet it seems you are blinded indeed
So maybe if I spell it out right here and right now
Then maybe my love you can read

Would it be so easy, I fear it's not so
So why do I try today
These are the questions that haven't an answer
That pull at my heart each day

I'm tired of this, I'm tired of that
Nothing will ever remain
Like you, you're love or you're beautiful smile
That slowly make me insane

I'll jump a bridge, I'll take a bullet
Just whisper those three simple words
That take me by my miserable sides
And fly me away with the birds

Forgive me for all that I am
For it has always been for you
I've come to realize however
That there's nothing I'd rather do

Not loving you is like not breathing
Or living without a heart beat
When the day comes to a close
I must love you to be complete

So there you go my dear
Call it my "mediocre poem of love"
But even if I died today
I'd still love you from above
