All The Love We Shared

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 5, 2009

I'm westbound on a train to see you
And don't know what face you'll make
When I come to your door to knock
And maybe my hand you'll take.

And if you love me why wont you have me?
If you love me why can't we hold hands?
If you love me why cant we kiss here?
If you love me why cant we understand?

I don't want to say goodbye to you
When I see you I wont want to go.
And when you go it'll break my heart
And I'll dig through the snow.

If you love me, why wont you be mine?
I know when we're together everything is fine.
I know when we're together, that the sun will rise
And I know when we're together that you wont cry
And I smile calmly when you say goodbye.

Please tell me its a lie, that its not really over.
How could it be you're no longer my lover?
Yet I love you and I want you here
So that you can see my tears when I feel you near
And hold me in your arms, dear.

I'm on my way now, almost to the ocean
Where I'll say yes to everything you ask.
And you know I can read your every motion
So it should be an easy task.

I wont drown in leeches on the way to you
I know my way around the bluest moon.
If you love me like I love you
Then you'll hear my voice in every room.

And if I should never get there--
If I should disappear.
Think of me when you hear the ocean near
Because then you'll know I'm really here.

I wont forget the dainty way you smell
Or the red flowers I put in your hair
Or the funny dreams we compared
Or all the careful love we shared.
