Turquoise

by Skyfire   Jan 8, 2009

In the heavy light of the moon,
curtains lie like silken shadows
a parted sea of still blue
against the dark white walls.
A light left on
touches the dark,
the light ripples gently
through aquamarine water,
glinting off exotic scales
and orange anemones.
Fish dance amongst swaying seaweed,
trailing fins like diaphanous veils,
elegant, graceful.
The steady purr of a tabby,
all silver and gray,
thrums against the edges of the room,
reassuring and sleepy,
belied only in slitted eyes
open,watchful, blue.
Visions float hazy on the air,
and the night dreams on.

This is so beautiful... the picture... the imagery ... brilliantly done...

    "touches the dark, and the
    light ripples gently
    through aquamarine water,
    glinting off exotic scales"

^^ I love moonlight getting reflected on water... the beauty is exotic... the shimmering water under the star studded sky .... you have portrayed the scenery wonderfully...

"Visions float hazy on the air,
and the night dreams on. "

I thought this was just beautiful. It felt so peaceful and calm as I read it. I really enjoyed the flow and your word choice. You did an excellent job with this piece, good work.

    "curtains lie like silken shadows
a parted sea of still blue
    against the dark white walls."

I would take "the" out but this was one of my favorite parts, I like your description here. Again, nice work.
