A smile is a complex thing
sometimes more tears then joy it brings
it covers words, a blanket worn
to find the giggles have been torn
it helps goodbyes to sting much less
but heres the truth, i must confess
a smiles more then a simple aid
because one day that smile will fade
when it leaves it tears your heart
but keep strong and play your part
for a smile can help but then it can harm
with a single tear for an alarm
it falters, it slips, it crashed down
and soon your smiles a nasty frown
so watch for smiles, like no one knows
for they can change when nothing shows
