Relief of the rain

by Kaila   Jan 15, 2009

Disappearing into a summer's dusk,
she waits; broken in the fresh breeze.
The wind calming to her skin, tranquilizes.
Dissolving is the sun beneath the clouds.

Her lips quiver like the tiny fern beside her,
whimpering in the suffocating dry draft.
She lays upon a wood poked bed of twigs
remembering the laughter she once knew.

She melts in it, one rain cloud splashes,
sounding the meadow like a sonic boom.
Laughter, engulfs the flowers and plants,
as if they all joined in a joyous frenzy.

One more drop, and she breathes hard,
smothering the crisp air in her filled lungs.
One sigh is heard over the booming drops,
the sun is welcomed to yet another day.

Beautiful imagery ... the wimpering dry land ... the dissolving sun and then splashing rain ... wonderfully covered...

"Laughter, engulfs the flowers and plants,
as if they all joined in a joyous frenzy."

^^the joy... relief... felt by the nature as the rain touches it with each drop is beautifully described ...

"the sun is welcomed to yet another day."
^^ loved the ending... it has so much warmth and positiveness...

    wonderful read :)
