I Swear

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Jan 15, 2009

Do you love me so?
Because I just want to know
Although there is no future for you and me
Because we both know the end of the story

Those secret looks and the touch of our eyes
It is admiration in a clever disguise
Or maybe I just got carried away
Because you'll never fall in love with me anyway

I don't know how sudden I felt like this
I never realized such a thing can exist
When you admire someone in a silent way
For them to feel the same towards you is what you pray

But it seems you'll never show.
What I think my heart should know.
But your looks and peeks are there
And I swear they show you care

I don't want to fall in love with you
But with you around something grew
And I'd rather keep it silent and veiled
Before our love started it has failed

Those secret looks and the touch of our eyes
It is admiration in a clever disguise
Or maybe I just got carried away
Because you'll never fall in love with me anyway

But it seems you'll never show.
What I think my heart should know.
But your looks and peeks are there
And I swear they show you care

* I leave this for you all to figure out, dear readers. Silence speaketh all.

Wow! that just knocked me out of my chair!
Your words are wonderful and your poem flows perfectly, mostly I can easily relate to this feeling and I know how it feels to stuggle inside with a secret like that.
    This lines spoke it all:
"Those secret looks and the touch of our eyes
It is admiration in a clever disguise
Or maybe I just got carried away
Because you'll never fall in love with me anyway"
