As They Grow Older

by Crystal   Jan 20, 2009

They always say "you live then you die"
But never do they tell you just how hard you try
As you grow older, so do they
And know in your heart that there will be that day
When sadness will come, but sadness will go
When the pain they once had no longer they throw
When they no longer hurt and no longer cry
But still at your heart that affection will pry
You watch them grow older each passing day
Just like they all used to say
You know this is the reason they were sent
Cause you know they were here to be your parents.
Through the years it gets worse scaring you more
Then finally they take that last step through your door
It hurts to watch and know they are pained
But without them your life would be so stained
Live it to the best and remember the good times
And cherish the moments you held in this life time
