Making it Through Life Without You [Contest Entry]

by Alicia   Jan 21, 2009

My tears have long since dried.
From all the times I've cried.
I'll always know I've tried.
And I'll never have to hide.

The feelings have long since past.
I knew it could never last.
Though it seems I've moved on fast.
You're role in my life will be hard to recast.

I'm struggling to let you go.
All of this you'll never know.
And as my wings begin to grow.
It's your tears that will start to flow.

I'm making it through this life.
Because of you, I've had this strife.
I know it hurts just like a knife.
But I know you'll be happy with your wife.

So I'll take a breath, and close my eyes.
And pray to God that this tear dries.
I'm finished listening to all your lies.
And done with all your half-bake tries.

    I like it.
You connected the title with your poem, that's very good, it's not easy(at least for me) to write a poem that's folowing a given title, but you did it very well.5/5.

This is very good(: I like how each stanza has the same words rhyming. It is unique. Please go read and comment my poem like this. I don't think mine is very good...it was my first contest entry(:
