Take It All

by Kim   Jan 22, 2009

Sometimes you can only learn,
By being broken into pieces,
Like the heartache deep inside your soul,
When someone you love deceases.

But there are other lessons,
You learn along the way,
Like how to pick yourself up again,
And face another day.

When no one else can understand,
There's something wrong inside,
And the one thing that you really want,
Is in someone to confide.

Left all alone in anguish,
Alienated with your pain,
If no one soon can make you smile,
You'll surely go insane.

Lessons are worth learning,
If there is something you can gain,
But sometimes you find there's nothing,
And you've wasted time again.

Precious time, precious moments,
We can never reclaim,
All that's left are broken memories,
And the softness of your name.

So take away my dignity,
Take away my life,
You can take away my everything,
I'll even give you the knife.

For there are more important things,
But I really couldn't care,
For you're gone to a better place,
And soon I'll meet you there.

My breath draws short,
My heartbeat slow,
It's nearly my time to depart,
I can't wait to leave,
For I can no longer live,
With this broken heart.
