What to Write

by RavishingEruption   Jan 24, 2009

I don't know what to write
I've said it all, it seems
I could say how hurt I am
Write about my shattered dreams

But it's all been said before
I've written myself out
The words have just quit coming
But I've got so much to write about

Your voice still gives me goosebumps
Your words can give me chills
You've broken my heart
But I can't help but love you still

The curse of true love
The curse only I received
And I've cried over it
I've had my time to grieve

I want to be your friend
It's harder than I thought
I can't help but hurt
The only feeling your departure brought

I want to see your face
To touch your skin and soul
To be able to forget
To be able to feel whole

Everything reminds me
Reminds me that you're gone
From the dark caress of twilight
To the kiss of awakening dawn

It's hard to go somewhere
And know that I'm not your's
I wish there was a book for broken hearts
Full of remedies and cures

I've written more than I thought
I've wasted up the day
I don't know what I want to write
But I know just what to say

    Wow... Tara. This. Is. Amazing!

I'm quite speechless by it actually, there is so much emotion in this poem, yet it never gets repetitive or veers off track, which many people do nowadays.

    This is my favourite part:

"From the dark caress of twilight
To the kiss of awakening dawn"

To me, this is the most descriptive part, as it is one of the parts with the most adjectives, and it encases feelings perfectly. For example, this is the time where people get lonely, drifting into or arising from dreams that belong to thier loved ones. You may not have realised it, but this is an amazing write.

This definately gets a 5 from me, and my weekly vote!

Well done, and keep writing Tara,

    Emily :)
