Through your Eyes

by Zulay Martinez   Jan 26, 2009

Eyes that opens eyes that close
Through them I see lies untold
I see the pain people try to hide
The same reflection in my own
What more to cause a single tear
To stand and fall when no one is near
Through your eyes I see a pain
I see the past that never goes away
And the more I want to help
The more it seems that you
Try to pull away, Eyes that are my own
A reflection of the past that makes the future
Stop! Holds it back
See me as I see you, walking with a shadow
That's not you, same face same walk
But the real you is distant too far to see
Too far to call you can't even hear a heart beat
And as you walk though the days it feels like
Centuries since I saw a smile in your face
Through your eyes I see many things
Though my eyes I am blind
For I am the one who is lost
And you are the one who stands back
Because through your eyes you see me
You see me broken and the fake m

    And the fake m? Pardon?

Anyway. Despite that, I liked this. You get a good feel for the loss. It reads fairly well, though could do with a little more... I don't know, fiddling, to get the flow better, you do what you feel's right though, that's the important thing.
Particularly liking the caesura and the stop! line, both effective and eye catching.

    Good work - Schem.
