My Savior And Friend

by Hidden Feelings within these Words   Jan 27, 2009

As I sit and ponder about this life he's given me.
My LORD is loving and faithful and forever will be.
He's walked by my side each and every day.
I know he won't turn his back, even when I stray.

I pray for strength to be able to let go of my burdens,
I know he'll hear my prayers, I'm absolutely certain.
If we trust our LORD, walk by faith and never rely on sight,
when our paths grow darker, he'll be there to shine the light.

From the depths of dark despair, he more than once lifted me.
He holds my head above the waters, so that I can clearly see.
He planted my two wayward feet back on solid ground.
And whenever I'm in trouble, he's always there to be found.

I thank God that Jesus Christ is a friend of mine.
His love for us is abundant, unconditional and divine.
He teaches me to be compassionate and how to forgive.
He ransomed His own life, in order for me to live.

To my sweet precious LORD, everything I truly owe.
His love and protection is always with me, wherever I go.
His love is like an ocean, it will never run dry.
I so look forward to the day, when He takes me by surprise.

He unselfishly bared his cross, so that we could be free.
And then prepared a place in His Fathers house, for you and me.
Soon all the wickedness of this world will finally end,
when he returns to claim those who accepted Him as savior and friend.

He shows me two roads that will determine my final destination.
I wisely have to choose one, for the other leads to condemnation.
I've seen so many times, the results of His amazing grace.
I can't wait to fly away with Him, to a far better place.

He gives us many precious gifts to treasure in this life,
He teaches us how to rise above our fears and much strife.
His love for us is abundant and it flows without end.
Forever I will abide in Him, he's my Savior and best friend.

In the end, life will be exactly how His Father intended it to be.
Everlasting, peaceful and sinless for all eternity.
