Into The Light

by Beautiful Chaos   Jan 29, 2009

Slipped through the cracks
Deep crevices of loneliness
Scraping, ripping at my flesh
Softening my fall from grace

Fresh droplets of blood
Crimson polka dots
Caress the waiting future
Wrapping themselves around time

Light is gathering
Rushing towards my feet
Flailing limbs
Searching for something to hold

Anything to keep them in the dark
That comfort of grief and pity
That has grown to be
Their lover

Clinging to nothing
As though they were promised forever
Clear thoughts begin
Severing limbs

Darkness is timeless
Unmoving, consuming
I must sacrifice myself
To the light
