My Heartstone

As the time flies by and the pain seems to pass
Of a love that was never really meant to last
A girl sits at a bench, cold, lonely, and waiting
Staring at a stone of whom shes desecrating
With flowers and hope, alongside it tears
For the love that she has lost but the adoption of her fears
She sits and waits for someone to come
For someone to tell her its over, its done
But nothing is heard, and no one she sees
No matter how many times or how long she pleads
She begs and begs but no one is there
To her its seems all is lost and no one cares
She looks at the stone with sorrow and grief
As she stares her heart plunges like the falling of a leaf
She looks down at the stone and wonders why
Why every night since then, for no reason, she starts to sigh
She sighs then tears well up in her eyes
Leaving her breathless in her bed as she cries
About the event that took place in her life
The event that felt so terrible, it stabbed her with a knife
A stab that left a hole in her heart
When her one true love left and their love was torn apart
She looked down at the stone as she said her goodbyes
When she stood she knew that a little bit of herself died
When she looked down at the stone from the very start
The name that she saw on the stone said: My Heart
