If All Else Fails

by xToBeWithYoux   Feb 6, 2009

Push you away,
far, far away,
into the infinity that lies beyond
these four padded walls.

Must not, can not,
emergency exits required.
Take my straight jacket and
escape this world. Forever.

Ignorance is bliss
for the ignored.
A nuisance for the one
who is suffering.

Me, the sufferer,
crying each night:
You haunt me
like a nightmare.

Forget me.
Leave me here.
Leave me to rot and
continue your life.

You don't want.
Don't want to.
To be here.
Not this insanity.

If it all ends.
If we all die.
If all else fails,
I may love you.

But don't.
Don't hold your breath.
Suffocation is painless,
unlike my existence.

So I'll push you away.
Far, far away.
But if all else fails,
I will love you.

If all else fails,
I'll love you.
Love you forever.
I'll. Love. You. Forever.

Nice. Throughout the poem I was thinking, okay this is under love, where's the love? Then at the end, there it was. Good idea leading the reader in to questions.

My God. I absolutely fell in love with this from this first four lines I read. You portray the emotion perfectly in your words, and the story line is amazing! Great Job, really. :)
