Back to My Life

by williamcampbell   Feb 8, 2009

Thousand miles away from you, sitting here with pen in hand.
Yesterday we were together, Now I'm off to the Iraqi sand.
To do the things I'm trained to do, and fight for the rights of others,
This is how I make a living, Side by side with these my brothers.
Proud to stand and fight with these men,and make our mark on history,
To be one of the few the proud a United States Marine.
This is a noble way to live, but this is not at all my life.
My life is put on hold for now, because my life is you my wife
My life is just being with you, and chasing reagan round the floor.
Soon we will have a little son, my life revolves around us four,
So this one thing I'll let you know, While fighting here in this strife,
I cant wait to get back to you, I cant wait to get back to my life.

Dedicated to my loving wife, written while in Kuwait waiting to go to Iraq.
