Dreaming in Color

by Melissa   Feb 9, 2009

Our world is the simplest, black and white
Or so do they say.
I've given my two cents in,
But am always turned away.

I dream in color,

Vivid images that tell stories to fill the sky
I've lived this life,
Lived with so many dreams and am unafraid to ask why?

Many times I feel I am misplaced.
An optimist amidst a world so drenched with hate.
I want to show them how to love.
For them to know what happiness could create.

I've been misunderstood
Even overlooked by many
I've come to the realization.
The love I have from a few is plenty.

I may not be miss popularity
I may not be what you had in mind.
But I am who I am.
And I'd like to think I'm one of a kind.

To those who've given me a chance
And let me inside your hearts
I will cherish your understanding love,
Always, even when we're apart.
