Finally The End

by Grace   Feb 10, 2009

- this is a dream i had... it is about a girl on prom night who was suppose to go with a boy who lost her forever..

Sparkling with a beautiful undefined,
She graciously makes her grand entrance.
Many stop and wonder why she is here,
In a run down race track coated in dirt.

Yet she walks proudly to her destination,
Never stopping to question whether she should turn around.
She knows she must see you,
To tell you this is finally the end.

Suddenly as she comes around the first building,
There you stand petrified in her grace.
Noticing a white envelope in her hand,
You realize this is finally the end.

Her beauty is beyond compare,
And you remember you were suppose to be there,
Standing where he now paces by her side.
Oh, how she wished you were.

But you will never know the tears she cried,
As she folded the letter you once gave to her,
Into the envelope labeled with her name.
The empty promises are now yours once again.

Even though her cheeks are painted rose,
Eyes coated with a shimmering glaze,
And hair loosely blowing in the wind,
She fills unbeautiful in your presence.

The ball gown that softly rustles with each nearing step,
Muffling the tears that slowly escape her eyes.
Shielding her shaking hand from view,
Is a simple symbol of another broken promise.

She does not know what she did so wrong,
That made you stay so far away,
But no longer does she care to make you stay,
You can go your own way.

Now she stands inches from your barely breathing chest,
You can see the tears slowly rolling down her cheek,
And as you reach to wipe them away,
She places the letter in your out stretched hand.

Picking up her dress, she turns around,
Trying her hardest not to stumble to the ground.
You finally lost her.
This is finally the end.
