Mom's Birthday Poem

by Allie   Feb 12, 2009

You've gone far in life,
been through the lows,
and have enjoyed the highs.
Laughing your way through life,
a smile always upon your face,
a glint in your eye,
a hop in your step,
and the joy in your voice.
And today is not an ordinary day,
instead, it is extraordinary!
Wishing and hoping,
dreaming and some believing
is all it took, then
BAM!
Its here!
So a very happy birthday to you,
may all of your wishes come true,
underneath the stars and the moon.
I'll love you forever
and ever, and even the day after,
my dearest mother.

I wrote this for my mom on her 48th birthday. She died a month later of gallbladder cancer on October 26, 2008
I hope you all enjoyed it, and comments would be acceptable.

Wow, I really liked this poem and it was kinda ironic because I didn't know you were going to write at the end about your mother like that and it was very nice of you to write a poem for your mother and im sorry about her passing away but I can tell she cared about you and everyone else in your family. =]

    keep it up.
    keep on writing.
    love always and forever.
